Sunrise Mountain View Resort is a 4-star resort set in the heart of Vang Vieng, the riverside town in Vientiane Province that has become Laos' outdoor-adventure capital. Ringed by the region's signature limestone karst peaks and only a short walk from the Nam Song River, it puts the town's caves, lagoons and viewpoints within easy reach — its location earns an outstanding 9.3 from guests.
The resort pairs a year-round outdoor swimming pool with a sun terrace, a garden and both open-air and public baths, so there is plenty of space to relax after a day of tubing or hiking. On site you'll find a restaurant and bar, a 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping and free private parking, along with an airport shuttle and an outdoor seating area.
The range of rooms is broad enough for couples and families alike, from 30 m² Deluxe doubles and twins with garden or mountain views up to a spacious 60 m² Family Suite. Many rooms come with a balcony, a spa bath or a super-king bed, and every unit is air-conditioned with a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV with streaming and a minibar.

Sunrise Mountain View Resort offers ten room types built for different needs, from Deluxe doubles and twins that suit couples and pairs of friends, to triple and family rooms and a Family Suite that works well for larger groups.
Every room shares the same essentials — air conditioning, a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a minibar and free Wi-Fi in the public areas — while the details shift from one room to the next: a balcony, a mountain or pool view, a spa bath, or the extra floor space of the Family Suite. Sizes run from 30 m² in the Deluxe rooms to 60 m² in the Family Suite, so there is a fit whether you are a couple in town for a few days or a family after room to spread out.

Sunrise Mountain View Resort offers a full range of services for a stay built around the outdoors. The centrepiece is a year-round outdoor swimming pool, set alongside a sun terrace and a garden, with open-air and public baths to soak in after a day exploring the karst landscape. A restaurant and bar handle dining and drinks on site.
The front desk is staffed around the clock, backed by daily housekeeping, luggage storage, a tour desk and currency exchange. Getting around is easy with an airport shuttle, car hire and free private parking. Every room is air-conditioned and non-smoking, with a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a minibar and an electric kettle. Free Wi-Fi is available in the public areas, and family rooms make the resort a comfortable base for travelling groups.
Sunrise Mountain View Resort sits in the heart of Vang Vieng, the riverside town in Vientiane Province set on the Nam Song River about midway between the capital, Vientiane, and Luang Prabang. Ringed by dramatic limestone karst mountains, Vang Vieng has reinvented itself in recent years — once known mainly as a backpacker party stop, it is now regarded as Laos' outdoor-adventure capital, and its central location earns the resort a 9.3 from guests.
Most of the town's draws are within easy reach. The Nam Song River, the hub for tubing and kayaking, runs alongside the town, while the illuminated Tham Chang (Jang) Cave lies a couple of kilometres south. A short trip out of town brings you to the turquoise Blue Lagoon and the Tham Phu Kham cave above it, the Kaeng Nyui Waterfall to the east, and steep viewpoints such as Nam Xay and Pha Ngern that reward the climb with sweeping views over the karst valley. At dawn, hot-air balloons drift over the peaks — among the most affordable balloon flights anywhere.
Getting here is easier than ever thanks to the Laos-China Railway, which opened in December 2021: Vang Vieng station is around 4 km from the resort, with fast trains reaching Vientiane in about 40 minutes and Luang Prabang in roughly 50 minutes. The nearest international gateway, Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, is about 116 km away by road.
The best time to visit is the dry season, roughly November to March, when clear skies and cooler temperatures make the river activities, hikes and viewpoints most enjoyable; December to February sees the least rain. April is the hottest month before the rains, and the wet season runs from around June to October, when heavy rain can raise the river and affect some roads.
